When most teenagers were spending their free time with bikes, skateboards, and video games, 14-year old Tim Johnson was taking the first steps in a food service career that has spanned more than three decades.  Johnson's entrepreneurial spirit led him fro
m employment at Lexy's Pizza in Fort Wayne, to the eventual establishment of pizza parlors in Roanoke, Auburn, and Garrett, Indiana.  A 5-year stint at VanDyne Crotty honed his business skills and sales expertise, as he continued to explore innovative ideas in the food service industry.

No stranger to a challenge, Johnson purchased a commercial hickory smoke rotisserie and established a BBQ catering business in 2001.  He quickly earned his customers' respect by his commitment to quality and dedication to service and value.  In the spring of 2006, Timmy's Pizza and BBQ opened on Randolph Street in downtown Garrett, Indiana, providing dine-in, delivery, Fund Raising programs and catering options to the surrounding community. In early 2008, an additional cooker was added, enabling Timmy's to quadruple their serving capabilities.  The new smoker is one of the largest units built in the United States. Now with equipment and technique honed, Tim is rocking the foundations of the barbeque community, winning an amazing 8 awards in his very first year competition. The quality and pure flavor of his craft will no less than secure him a place in midwest barbeque history.
